Description:

Exhibited on a New Indented earthenware dinner plate is Spode's Chinese Flowers pattern in blue underglaze.  The flowers on the left and right are chrysanthemums.  In the middle is a Chinese variety of orchid or hemerocallis (day lily).  It is one of the few outline prints that were regularly issued in plain blue without added color.  It probably dates from 1815.
