Description:

The slightly scalloped earthenware saucer here bears the Waterloo pattern, printed in underglaze blue.  The church is based on a church in the Belgian village of Waterloo (close to Wellington's headquarters before the famous 1815 Battle of Waterloo).  Also known as Italian Church, this pattern was used principally for earthenware breakfast and tea sets.
