Shown on a small earthenware tea plate. This unusual, enigmatic pattern is printed underglaze in black. Note that the trees appear to be growing out of the sides of the boat. The figures appear to be dressed in Medieval costume. Two musicians are entertaining the lady. The pattern is illustrated on p. 173, Vol. 1 of the Spode Society Review.
